Re: "tanks is ON THE ROAD again
Greetings Keith & Russell, sorry about your mum but she would want you to get going and enjoy life so go for what ever you feel like doing. (within reason) Spin a bottle to see which way to head. Have fun and keep the reports coming.

Re: "tanks is ON THE ROAD again
"tanks" here ---I have decided to leave Broome and head on to DERBY a little further North. I will miss the Broome Races but then again I don't usually go to the races, so I'm not missing very much.
I can do Derby in one day or one week or perhaps a bit longer. I will call in again when I get to somewhere, and when I have the Telstra doogle/diddle/dongle thing getting a signal.
Keith.
I'm now 87 years old, having experienced another birthday, and I'm still living in WA, single (gave up looking), white hair, no teeth, no money, no worries.
I plan to have another birthday next year.

Re: "tanks is ON THE ROAD again
"tanks"here---I made it to somewhere between DERBY and HALLS CREEK I spent the afternoon [happy 3 hour] with some people fron NSW and Victroia.
I now have to cook the evening meal --- I lie ---I have just decided to have a prawn salad. [saves washing up] Russell is happy and enjoying the diversion and we are both enjoying the nice nights and hot days.
Next stop [in a few days] may be Fitzroy Crossing, but I am told that it is not a secure town-- If you leave the Sprinter, the locals may steal your nuts, as well as the wheels, and I don't want to loose my nuts.

Keith you should always carry a couple of spare nuts just in case, best to keep them in a bag of some sort close to your person, you never know when you might need them

Hey Keith, we had a great time in the pub at Fitzroy Crossing. The tiny caravan park is next door to the pub. in fact i think it may be owned by the pub, you pay your camp fees at the bar. We (my wife & I) were the only whitefellas in the bar (which was packed) & once we'd broken the ice, by knowing to refer to folks as 'bro' we were made incredibly welcome by a mob of sociable folk who wanted to know all about our travel experiences. I'd recommend it. Don't listen to all the 'stories, which get repeated & repeated, check places out for yourself, you won't regret it.

"tanks" here
I did Halls Creek and Fitzroy Crossing. I'm now at the Showgrounds at Kununurra, after doing Wyndam and the Grotto, and the 5 Rivers Lookout.
I will be here for a few days over the weekend as I have to have work done on my generator when the mechanic goes back to work on Monday.
The night temp is around 18-20 degrees and today the temp reached 35 degrees. No wonder there are so many Victorian and S.A. number plates up here.

Re: "tanks is ON THE ROAD again
"tanks" here---
Hi there Dot, I got on the turps with a few of the tenants at Spring Creek and let the generator run out of fuel while I was having a few too many.
I tried to start it next day and - no go. I checked the oil and fuel, and I could smell petrol after around 10 tugs on the start rope. NO GO !.
I thought that I had flooded the carby, or fouled the plug, so I pulled the plug and cleared the cylinder by cranking the motor several times, and the plug was not wet BUT no spark.
It is a 3.5 kva "import" and one of the blokes said that the Honda has a Glass Fuse that blows if the motor runs out of petrol. The Honda manual says to take the unit to your Honda Dealer if this happens.
This unit I have is not a honda and the honda bloke in Kununurra wont even look at it if it is not a honda. so its off to another mechanic on Monday morning.
