Hi, all.
Seems retiring and driving slow, averaging 15km daily, pays off. Last August I experienced my second TIA - ministroke for the uninformed and healthy - but since hitting the road the BP has dropped to 108/75. Must be doing something right, possibly the countless experiments seeing how long beer can stay in the freezer before going solid. Four hours is perfect.
If you're contemplating retiring do it now.

Hi, all.
Should have added - if you think you might have experienced a TIA get to the nearest hospital immediately. The treatment required to reverse any damage must be initiated within one hour. No kidding. There's plenty of info on the net about the warning signs, or ask your G.P. if your blood pressure is on the high side.
Dot - have you joined the TIA club too?

Congrats on the 108 but what do the pill pushers say about the 75?shonky wrote:.....since hitting the road the BP has dropped to 108/75.

I thought all the research said that red wine was the self-medication of choice? Not sure it matters that much though. I have been told to drink more as a way of thinning the blood, i. e. must not get dehydrated. Like any good patient, I'm sticking to doctor's orders.

Hi, all.
Iza - red wine sounds like the perfect solution, but, as Mrs shonky cannot not drink alcohol, a bottle of red is a bit more than the writer can dispose of in one session. Nonetheless, oh joy, it appears that beer does not go solid in our freezer, which means there may well be a Supreme Being smiling down on me after surviving the week's strife with battery chargers without kicking the sh.t out of Steffie.
Isn't the 78 one's age in metric?

Re: Blood Pressure
The BP is 120 over 70 and I am looking forward to the big day. I love a drop of good red, unfortunately it doesn't like me......... Did you know that beer won't freeze if you leave the stubbies wrapped up in plastic. Doesn't work for cans though.shonky wrote:Hi, all.
