For an iconic vehicle that was last produced in the classic style back in 1978, there is an amazing amount of Kombi merchandise available, fridges, eskies, tents, toasters that toast the VW symbol, cups, key rings, birthday cards..... the list goes on and on. The fact you can buy every part to build or rebuild one says they will never die, just continue to get more expensive.
There is a fully restored one for sale locally for $42,000, and it's attracting quite a few lookers, who would have thought it, sadly it will most likely go overseas, they fetch double that price in the UK and the US because the Aust Kombi are the most rust free and were up there wit the best built.
