Wonderful Probiotic KEFIR & Smoothies

Post by weezanickinoff »

Hi all, I have been growing the wonderful ancient probiotic milk Kefir Grains for a few years and because it grows and multiplies you throw away all but the tablespoon or so that I need for my smoothy every day......I hate throwing it away and couldn't be bothered selling it on ebay so I was wondering if anyone out there would like to start their own?? Just pay postage which would be $2
It multiplies quickly so I can send it to many in turn.

I have attached a couple of links to enlighten you if you are interested, it is supposed to be super healthy and beneficial, I make a fruit smoothy with it every day mostly with bananas but when other fruit is in season like mango!!! Yum!!!

Here's a link but if you google Kefir you'll find heaps http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kefir
Dom is a guru on the subject and you'll find heaps on his Australian website http://users.sa.chariot.net.au/~dna/kefirpage.html

Message me if you'd like some.....
Cheers
Ash & Wendy

Received my envelope with the stuff in today, thank you Wendy. Hopefully I've followed the direction correctly, but as it's a living thing I must warn you, I can kill Kikuyu grass trying to transplant it so the chances of me not killing it aren't good, but we will see how we go. Margaret reckoned I looked like the mad professor careful cleaning every thing and then trying to figure out how the get the stuff out of the foil packaging, then the glad wrap, sticky tape is hard to see on glad wrap I gotta tell ya

Is it supposed to go thick white looking on top and milky looking water underneath?
Is this the "curds & whey" from the nursery rhyme? cause I gotta tell ya, the spider in the letter box has already done his job, you didn't send him too did you? The thing bolted straight up the inside of my jumper sleeve, there is no easy way to convince a large huntsman to come back out again either and no one wants to help you get your jumper off when they find out why you need to get off quick either

Yep That's Ok, if you are in a warmer climate it will grow quicker so you can slow it down a tad by cooling it somehow whether that be in an esky or something similar, it just means it will be stronger if it seperates like that and it's just because of warmth.
As for the spider, that's yours I don't take any responsibility for that eeeeeeeeew :o

Hehehehe  Not there anymore!!! Got wheels on this home of ours hhehehehehe!!!!

No like I said if it's warm where you are it wont need the full 24hrs, mind you it wont hurt it either, later when you've started drinking it it will taste stronger flavour if it separates so you'll get an idea of how far with what heat or cold you are experiencing and what taste you prefer, no big deal either way cause if it separates for me and it's too strong I just add honey or more fruit to cover the stoger flavour. Just personal trial and error.

Have a good read of the files I sent, will reassure you :D
Enjoy

Here too is a reminder for other readers of the benefits of drinking Kefir
Which by the way can be made with not only cows milk but goat's, sheep's, soy milk The Many Health Benefits of Making Kefir
Making kefir yourself rather than buying it pre made in a store is the best way to utilize the health benefits. Originating among shepherds in the North Caucasus region of Russia, kefir has long been drunk by people around the world for good health and immunity leading to a long life. Loaded with vitamins, antioxidants, minerals and probiotic, kefir is a natural cure for almost everything from hypertension to insomnia. Here are just a few of the many things that kefir has been known to help with:

I also have contacted Wendy in an effort to help JP last Thursday & Fryday is the first time he could drive his ute :o
being the first time he could could get enough bend in his left leg,he is still not on top of things and has been treated with massive
amounts of strong antibiotics which is known to destroy the good bacteria in the gut

This is after his encounter with the date palm spike,
I also like the idea of improving the brain I would need a few gallons for myself
