Drove from Bedourie [NO signal] to Birdsville, only 190k but 80k of gravel. Yes I busted the water line again [lucky I bought a spare T piece when the other broke] Fixed it and raised it higher this time. Wiring on the brakes [5'er] broke a stone must have hit it all fixed now. Will be here for two nights [bus tour both nights to "BIG RED" the biggest sand dune in Oz] Doing the washing etc.
Dinner at the roadhouse BBQ at $20 was well worth it. Draught 4x was $5 schooner.

Weather perfect, first cloud seen today from Big Red for two weeks.
Big problems today, three tyres scrubbed out to the steel wire [20,000k] Had to buy 4 tyres at Birdsville $1120.00 the suspension [AL-KO IRS] rubbers appear to have broken down. Contacted AL-KO and Travelhome and sent photo's of the axles and tyres. I cannot get to Boolaroo till Nov 8th for further investigation [Will destroy the new tyres I just bought] on a lighter note cracked windscreen.
Went out and up BIG RED this afternoon for the sunset, well worth going.
Off to Mungeranie SA tomorrow, don't expect signal for about a week.

Arrived Mungarannie in one piece then down to Marree [took a flight over Lake Eyre (Nth & Sth) no water but a lot of salt] cost $285 for 1 1/2 hours. then Moved to camp at Farina Ruins [old Ghan rail station] middle of nowhere no power no potable water but flushing toilets and a donkey boiler for hot water for showers. Unfortuneatly I spent all day repairing water leaks and redoing the skylight. Left there and drove to William Creek, stopping at Coward Springs for morning tea [more trouble I hit a fence (railway line) and broke the steps on the 5'er. Lost the Skylight again did a modification hope it holds. after repairing the water leaks at Farina I have been unable to get any water to fill them up. Bad corrigations on the way up has done more damage to interior so have decided to cut Oodnadatta out of the trip and go to Coober Pedy. Five of us took this option [all with problems one MH had 3 blowouts in on day so no spare tyres]. Last night a local left the pub to drunk to fast rolled his vehicle at Anna Station and was killed. RFDS came during the night. At Coober Pedy I refilled with water [20c for 30L] yes still have more water leaks. Will ring Port Augusta in the morning to arrange repairs.

Well Coober Pedy is past, went on a very enjoyable bus tour of the town, mines etc and an underground mine in town connected to an Opal store which showed a movie of old Coober Pedy.
Drove to Pimba today, tomorrow a tour of Andamooka, then Roxby Downs [lunch supplied by the visitors centre] and Woomera and back to Pimba Roadhouse.
