Re: Anyone have "truck GPS"?
Had a look at the Navman My Truck it has large vehicle assist & truck mode. ?(the staff at hardly normal couldn't tell us much about it though
) so we didn't even entertain buying it. Also there is the Navman My escape 11 and also has large vehicle assist.

Queen of the Banal & OT chatter and proud of it. If it offends you then tough titty titty bang bang.
Re: Anyone have "truck GPS"?
I haven't used it but if I did any city driving I'd be very tempted if it does what it says on the box.
And the 7" screen is a bonus, I currently use an iPad because of the large screen.

The truck GPS is more to keeping you out of the dead end streets, low bridges and restricted weight streets. Good idea for a bus conversion but not for the average motor home.

Re: Anyone have "truck GPS"?
We've been using a 7" IGO Primo ("no-name" Chinese) we bought through eBay Aust. For 3 months we have been touring France, Belgium, Netherlands and Germany in a 9m, 5T motorhome and have found the Truck maps invaluable. Apart from speed monitoring and driving time management it did a great job of helping us avoid weight-restricted areas, zones with dimension limits, pollution-free zones and other expensivetraps. It often offered route alternatives, suggested detours when needed and did other useful things like logging driving hours, maximum speeds, itineraries, fuel consumption and more.
To be honest, we couldn't have managed without it, especially when driving in strange cities in rush hour traffic, and consider it an essential item of equipment. At a delivered price of NZD 116 it worked out only a little dearer than upgrading our Navman to European maps ($99) and it leaves the Navman for dead in most respects. The only "negative" was that we found the 7" screen a bit hard to view in bright sunlight, although the supplied clip-on visor did help a bit.
Probably the most useful item we've bought for years!

G'Day, Jan and Bruce,
Can you post a link for the unit. Sounds like good value at that price.
