I had cellulitis a few years ago caused by a bull ant bite, bitten on Saturday, Monday I couldn't put my foot to the ground couldn't walk, foot elevated & antibiotics did the trick but took about a week to get OK to walk, not a nice experience.

That sounds dreadful! I'd never even hard of cellulitis before Greg got it!

Anyway, back on track, we have travelled a mere 120 Kms and are now well happy, sitting by the river at the free camp near Texas. Very peaceful, lots of birdlife. The tree nearest to us has a nest inside the trunk with a courting pair of kookaburras. They keep popping their heads out!

If you are ever in Tenterfield there's a butchers opposite the Foodworks in High Street that makes awesome sausages! Won the comp 10 years running. They also have some really good meats.

Happy to be on the road again. Greg improving by the day!

Thanks for all the messages!

Cheers
Dee

Glad Greg is on the mend. I got it from a dog bite on the hand, took 6 weeks to stabilise it, it was purple to the elbow at one stage. That was the death of my mechanical workshop really, you just can't do anything that may get crap back in the wound site or it takes off again.

Wow Terry, that sounds awful! So it can take a bit of time! Greg won't be happy about that. His leg is still badly swollen and he's going to be on antibiotics for a while yet :(

Bruce....not telling!

After stopping at Dumeresque River overnight.. We are now in Inglewood and will be here for a week before heading towards Gympie.

Cheers

and if it's anything like mine, a rotation of different antibiotics as well. I wish him well and hope the nerve damage is not too severe.
A funny story goes with the injury, after it healed I enrolled in an evening TAFE course in basic panel forming (automotive panel beating for vehicle restoration) and one of the first jobs was to bash out a flat piece of metal to form a VW beetle hubcap, the half round bowl looking unit. Because of the issues with the nerve damage in my hand, I couldn't control the hammer properly. At the end of the first lesson period, the teacher was present with our finished projects, 19 VW hubcaps and one large golf ball mould  The bugga mounted it on the wall as a display piece as well, lucky I have a good sense of humour eh

Dee don't let the thought of it coming back as soon as you turn your back syke you out,It only starts when the skin is broken. Keep those antibiotics going to the end, see a Dr just before the end of them just incase they need extending or changing and keep clean and most of all be aware of your body... And do tell, what was the first new tooth kiss like any difference :?:  X
