Camped by the river just south of Kingaroy, QLD. Left Inglewood this morning, planned to stop in Kumbia, the Apex Park....and actually did park up there, but the guy in the vintage van next to us took a dislike to us, started being really abusive, even before our kettle had boiled!

Greg was gonna stick it to him, I just wanted to move on away from these awful people. So now we're camped in a delightful spot!

Before we left :) I told him I believe in karma, and that what goes round comes around, so he'll get his!

The first time in five years of travelling that we've had this type of experience.

Oh, and although it has a red tick in the Camps book....that park is cramped if there's more than three vans in there.

Cheers

We turned up, and the only space was next to his van. Everyone was camped close to each other...no choice. But there was still room for us to put out our awning. He took exception, and instead of coming to us and politely asking us to lower it a bit, he came and was abusive ..... Greg was polite, and started to lower the awning....I hadn't even put the kettle on so we were still sorting out. Then the guy went on about us being "typical Victorians" whatever that means, he was really nasty.

I told him that in five years of travelling I had never met anyone as rude and nasty as him. Greg said he's not a caravanner. Greg was gonna stay, but I said I don't need the stress, Greg was a bit cross with me but he agreed to move on, and we made sure the guy knew we'd warn others about him. Took a photo of his rig.

But we are happy where we are. Lots of space, nice people.

Just it blew me away that we should have had such an upsetting experience!

How's your journey going?

Dee :)

That sounds just like the horrible old bugger that we crossed paths with near Bendigo earlier this year. He used the 'bl**dy Queenslanders' on me a few times. I don't think anyone needs to be rude to fellow travellers until there is a demonstrated need.
We are not all like that up here. Hope you enjoy the rest of your travels.
Cheers

Tip,,, Carry some different plates, one for each state you go into.. Just for such people. Put them on when they are not looking then ask him what did he mean by calling you a Vic or Qld'r ?? good idea Dotto must remember that one.
