Need to know if there is any size restrictions for a stone guard for the windscreen?

Dot it's quite some time since I've been involved in that stuff but there never used to be. In fact I've seen cars with guards right up to completely covering the windscreen!
I find it terrible to look through when I'm going 5km/hr on a very rough holey track into an isolated camping area. Even more so when there's shade from trees as well across the track.
Did you get hold of one? New or S/H ??

Have my niece's son having a look at making one for me, he is in fabrication work or something (makes lots of things and welding) All of them on evil bay are all a wee bit too small. :D

Hi Dot,
my experience is that I had to take stone shield off to get a roadworthy (victoria) then fitted shield back on to have a stone go in between grid and crack screen grrr

Martin we have such an unusual screen and it is not readily available, I feel we have to take any and every opportunity to prevent / reduce any possible windscreen damage. We do have the insurance but the time to get one fitted could also cause probs. (none are kept in stock) :D
Hi Alpal and welcome.
We would be ok because of having the heavy vehicle, that was interesting about the roadworthy in Vic but hey that's Vic for yu   (might have to see if there are certain size mesh to use)

:D It is/was Alpal Dot!!
Hello & welcome Al... ;)

My screen is made of a lighter sample of your cocky cage wire.
Does G have any left over from that job Dot?
I'll go mic my wires & tell you HM millimetres they are.

EDIT: 1.2mm wires. About 1cm squares.
