Or have 7 solar panels on the roof with a good lithium battery pack and a big fridge. Coupled with lots of water and 3 cassettes for the dometic vacumn toilet. Can camp almost forever, if the beer holds up.

There's a lot of info in people's heads, but I suspect a book will never happen. I've got things I'd rather do and I suspect it's the same with others.

One problem is that things change and it's too difficult to keep up to date. I remember years ago someone saying that the guys who do the original Boiling Billy books have a dream job, after all they get paid to scope out all these great places. They do, but if you read a blog it's 3-4 places a day at times, whip in, take a photo, make some notes and whip out.

That's not travelling, that's hard work, and you wouldn't get to really see anything. Not this little black duck , if I find a nice spot I stay there for days or even weeks.

I can't remember the last time we plugged in, depending on where you camp it's not necessary if you have a good system.

Well, we have never needed to plug in &very very rarely use a cp.
Have A small QUITE 4 stroke Honda Battery charging generator[15A] that has had about 200hrs of use in something like 30years

Quite or quiet ??? (OK, I'm being pedantic)
Noise from generators isn't quiet as bad as screaming kids or yapping poodles!!!
I actually don't let any of it worry me unless it's after 11PM.

As you said it would be hard work even trying to keep updated. When we were at Barn Hill there were three prices for the bush camp area one for the cliff top one for the row back and another for the sites behind them, the toilet and showers were adequate, however there was water available at every site, we did not need the genny, (which by that time had thrown the towel in anyway) but got sufficient solar.

Been to Barn Hill once and never again unless we are desparate. Gained the distinct impression that it is run for the benefit of the regulars who also help to run it. Any one else got the cold shoulder and the wrong end of the stick.
