CMCA Rally 2013 Narrabri NSW

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

CMCA Rally 2013 Narrabri NSW

Post by pet-els »

Well it's Sunday night and the CMCA Rally is just about over [still entertainment in the big tent].
There were 810 vehicles here [so I'm told] about 1/3 rd have left today. Entertainment was good [so I'm told] Ball was a success, Traders were reasonably happy. Main gripe was the distant that we were spread out one area was referred to as Siberia, chairs not allowed on the buses so a lot of people had to walk a long way to happy hours. Geowicki was shown at seminars and downloading from it to Garmins etc was done and explained.
Toilets and showers were numerous and water hot and plenty of it.
Beer garden opened at 1500hrs and closed at 2000hrs, also supplied meals [two choices] at $12. Normal coffee van and food vans here.
Town was welcoming, meals at pubs and clubs good.
Volunteer's from some sections were unhappy with the site Rally Manager.
I will be leaving in the morning for Gurley to go on the Charity Safari from there to Newcastle.
In all a good Rally.

Thanks for that info Peter. Why were the volunteers unhappy with the site rally manager for? When you said no chairs were allowed on buses do you mean your folding chairs or wheelchairs? and why not? :?

Bit rough about the chair bit, what did they expect you to sit on other than your ass on the grass?

All things being equal, sounds like a fairly mediocre rally.Any of our newly elected directors in attendance.Any word on when they anticipate on reinstating the forum. Or is that a naughty word...Did anybody ask any questions...

No F words spoken here Norman. :)

Most Directors were here, Gary was generous with his time, Ken was absent (unwell), Keith looked better than ever (mind you he needed help :) but he puts us all to shame looking that healthy!) , Vince decided that the major sponsor (Santos) should be condemned for digging up the landscape (whoops), John Benetts was here somewhere.

Good Rally, but have seen better (been to three now). GeoWiki Team had 31 Volunteers providing help to hundreds of Members and conducting six hours of Seminars on GeoWiki and Garmin Devices, Navman and Tom Tom.

Very busy, next Rally in Robinvale should not be missed! Not far from Dot's place :D
Ok Jon. Thanks for the info....

You could help iPad users if you like?? I seem to recall you use one. Let me know by PM and I will send a Volunteers Application. If not, we'll still make you feel quite welcome :)

Hi Norman,
Still a naughty word at the moment some of the board still against it but Keith and now Gary are for it just have to convince the others or wait till next year when we have more [new board] members on our side.

In other words NO. Have to cull the old wood first and not just the board members ;)
