CMCA Rally 2013 Narrabri NSW

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

The whole club needs a purging to clear out some of the mindset that had it headed in the death spiral it was going. The only way I can see that happening is a new club splitting away from the existing club and taking those members with it.
Due to the massive amount of apathy within the CMCA, I can't see that happening any time soon, the other way is through natural attrition, and that will take a while.
Sadly, the great strength that built the club that "was" the CMCA is no longer part of the CMCA, some of their way of thinking is returning to the top, but there is a lot of weight to drag these days to turn it around again, it was much easier when it was a much smaller club.

100% Terry 100%. Nothing will change until the mindset changes. They are still in the dark ages thinking and this turning it into a company thing has been ruination. This should just be a club, not a company.

IMO the CMCA is heading in the right direction & the more members we have supporting those trying to change things the better, Rudi the new BOSS appears to be doing a great job lets give him a chance, also the new Directors.
The more members we have to supporting FREEDOM CAMPING the better, a little club would not get to far fighting for our rights.

I think the new direction looks good, don't get me wrong, I just think they have a huge battle ahead of them trying to change old habits within the membership. All power to them, a return of the CMCA forum would be a huge sign the club had turned the corner and is now back on the right track, let's hope it's not too far in the future.

The club is now a big company, like the RACV, NRMA, etc.
Too big to be just for members...
We'll remain members, but (as with the RACV's roadside help service) only for the insurance.
Have not visited the CMCA website for months. And have no interest in doing so. Camps 6 will do us... don't need Geowiki.
Regards & God bless,
Ray

For the CMHC to become anything like a shadow of itself it HAS to learn to live with criticism and learn to adopt and LISTEN to the members wishes instead of ignoring and saying the disgruntled rabble are a minority and are causing trouble. The rabble aren't a minority as they are finding out. Nothing is going to happen for a while yet until the top end of town tossed out.

Hi, all.

The opinions we have about Narrabri have all been expressed by our other contributors - suffice it to say we hope the next rally we attend, which will be in Queensland, will be organised by the same bloke that managed the Boonah get-together. That was the first and best rally we've attended.
See you on the back roads,

The next Rally in Qld [Oct 2014] is to be at Peaks Crossing, between Boonah and Ipswich. A place called Ivory Rocks, I believe. A lot of Caravaners have/will be invited so I'm told.
