We left Norseman this morning and are heading back over to the east (after 21 months in the west). We are currently camped up at Madura (about 530km's from Norseman on the Eyre hwy). At least we have phone reception this time 8-) . The wind picked up this afternoon (head wind) and slow us down to 80  . So if your heading west then now is a good time to go ;)

I'd be happy if my Civilian could even reach 80km/hr!!!
You'll find a lot of times the wind will drop through the night but then you have the wildlife to contend with.
Have a safe trip across the big paddock!!
Remember the fruit check at Ceduna!!

I did suggest to Cheryl that we could drive at night and her response was about the wildlife also. Unfortunately when we awoke this morning the wind is still howling so it is simply a matter of pushing on and using a bit more fuel  . We have done this crossing a few times now and it is a bit more than a fruit check  . The border check is at border village which is about 10 km's east of Euchla and no honey, no veg, no fruit, don't pass go, don't collect $200  . We have found that coming into the west is a lot stricter as to what can be brought in.
