I stand corrected Bruce , you are correct, the quarantine station is in Ceduna. up until this time we have only headed to the west along the Erye hwy. This is the first time back to the East this way and I thought the quarantine station was for both ways at Border Village.
To be honest Craig I wasn't sure where it was/is now!
It's been quite a few years since I used to run across there. Most times with one eye open as well!
Where are you tonight?

We have parked up about 170km's east of Border town. I could smell radiator coolant today so we pulled up early to investigate and found coolant leaking behind the dash (Mazda T4600). Try as I might I could not gain access to where the leak is. So I don't know if it simply a hose clamp or the heater core . I will plug the heater hoses as a temporary fix.
Obviously you meant Border Village!
You should be safe there ......... about 100 km from Yalata.
I would NEVER camp anywhere from where you are right through to Ceduna other than right in a compound etc. (or Penong)
I'm not racist but I'm not silly either!
I hope you get the leak blocked off OK ......... don't forget to keep the additive up to required strength.
What's for evening meal?

We made it to Minnipa today. I joined the supply and return hoses that lead from the engine cooling to the heater core together. That should hold things until we reach Cairns. The confirmation that the heater core has failed was the steam coming out of the air vents
Good job Craig.
Apparently there are some nice rocks not far from there? Is that where you are? Pillipa Rocks or something?
Which way are you going across to the East side?
Broken Hill? Hay Plains? Or further South?
EDIT: Pildappa Rock

We are camped up at the APEX park at Minnipa. We are thinking of going up through the middle to three ways then across through Mt Isa onto Cairns. Weather dependant. The east coast is wet but the centre is hot
