Back home again after 3 days down at Dalmemy. got to take the belly board out if it's wrapper after 3 yrs, lasted maybe 3/4hr before I was too stuffed to paddle out or back in again so that was that. i did mange to get enough sun during that 3/4hr to be thoroughly sunburnt on the shins and the tops of the feet??? they would have been face down in the water during that time so???? hasd jeans/sock & boots on after that for a walk around the pathway so it had to be during my venture to the surf.
Dalmeny camp ground is a great spot for a few days or a weeks if you can swing pensioner rates, $120 for 7 days with power I believe.

Bordertown by the lake....good free camp. Even has a dump point.
Sad to say farewell to the Beaumonts, but ...we'll be back!
Exhausting journey as I am driving the Jimny and I get ankle pain after an hour so we had to stop lots! Got on well with the truckies as with the new layout of the Western Freeway it was easy for us to move over for them...probably illegal but they have schedules...we don't!
However, I now remember why I don't like the Western ......
We are at a bush camp at Shallow Inlet Coastal Park, $11.00 per night we have been here for a week, good sites in individual areas, no close neighbours, close to Wilsons Prom which was to say the least well worth the drive in, summer fees in the campground $60.00 per night!!!!!, Moving on to Melbourne to get some work done on the awning arms then Geelong for three nights then onto the Ferry to Tassie on Monday,
On our way here we passed through Wellington Shire which takes in a fair bit of the east Gippsland Area, at the free camp at Golden Beach, An older gent dropped into each and every new campers site and he had with him a welcome bag, which had a day old newspaper and several pamphlets showing to delights of the area and a printed map with all of the locations of free camps and dump points in the shire, what a welcome, we have not come across anything like this before and used the information for shopping and touring the area, we enjoyed our stay there and moved on to a free camp at Port Albert which had dedicated sites for 24 hour stays, a bit windy but the price was right, then on to Shallow Inlet.
Travel safe
