Big worldwide trip "bon voyage!)

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Marseille October 11

After being spoiled with the best weather you could possibly want from Dublin, England, Portugal and Spain, it was quite a shock to step off the boat into French single digit temperature! The locals said it was in the 20's the day before, but that didn't make me feel any better. :(

Scooters are popular in much of Europe, but compared to Oz, it still surprised me how very very many were piloted by females and not the tattooed variety you'd not be comfortable with in a dark ally late at night. Here is one you hope your grandson would bring home to meet mum and dad. :D

There seems to be some fascination with colourful animals.

Every place we went there was a monument to or for something or someone. What was this; not a clue as we did not stop, but must have something to do with the sea. PS just had a look and it's got something to do with "Heros" and there is a star and crescent, so might be the French against the Turks. Maybe that's why we have croissants. Truly.

We visit yet again another ornate church - ho hum.

Much of your time is spent waiting for the "tourist" to clear out so you can get an unencumbered shot - very frustrating. You could yell, "there's a bomb", but your next accommodation probably wouldn't match what you had on the boat. :o
I liked the camel with the board shorts and immediately thought of Oz. :D

Monte Carlo October 12

The worlds smallest country is also the richest. Yet again we are on a tour bus sight seeing while en-route to Eze France - so you get to see the back of a statue for someone in a fountain in Monte Carlo.

I've got no idea where he thinks he's going to land, as there wasn't even enough room to park a bike here.

Monte Carlo October 12

I think the next one is looking back to Monte Carlo???
_DSF2103.JPG
This one is the Monte Carlo harbour for sure. The palace is just up the hill on the left and the casino is in town just to the right.

I believe this is the palace where the prince lives. If he's in town, they fly the flag at the palace. It was supposed to be hoisted, but I wasn't looking for it - sorry.

Man, I would hate to fuel that barge! PS if you want to compare the size of this, look at pic 9386.

They say rent is by the square metre. I wouldn't even be able afford a garage if indeed there are any!

The town (vertually all of it), including the casino (middle) from the boat.

Eze France October 12

We took a bus tour from Monte Carlo to Eze France – that's why the dates are the same.

This is where we are headed for. The big yellow clock tower building will be there too.
