Thre is another manufacturer having a look at them. If they do bite the bullet, it may see a revolution happen. They are only 10ks as the crow flys from my place.
It is definately out ther in small pockets and sreadily expanding. Once mine is finished I am putting the olsystem in daughters camper trailer. Just what I have learnt from Terry and others has given me the confidence to do a scratch set up for her using our old agm and elcheapo controller.

Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

After reading about somes issues with this manufacturer, i wouldnt be buying the battery system either!
I couldnt see it in the facebook page, would be curious to see what the cost is and the size.
Camped out today with our system, was full by lunch

I don't think it's LiFeP04 cells they are using, well the first one wasn't anyway, think I'd best not say too much more regarding these vans, I'll leave that to Pelbo
Many builders are now offering lithium but just subletting the job to Enerdrive which is a package plus fitting by one of their agents who I thik are auto sparkies.
I had one contact me via the CFand ask all sorts of questions that surprised me, as an agent for a lithium pakage system mob I would have thought they would've been taught this stuff by the distributor. I believe they come with a reasonable guarantee so I guess that should sort any eary issues.
From what Scott told me when another Jacana client saw his system and asked if he could have the same fitted he was told they do the Enerdrive system and after being quoted a price, gasped a few times and decided to stay with the AGM's for the moment

Re: Sunland caravans go lithium...
A couple of 5th wheeler and motorcamper makers I have spoken to recently are also considering Li batteries. One said that they are still considering it but the cost to them would be about $2000 (or was it $4000: http://www.offgridbatteries.com.au/ener ... te-system/) per battery. A bit steep! and likely to be the Enerdrive package.
Another said they liked the idea but wondered how Li batteries stood up to high vibration levels over corrugations. I mentioned that they are being used in cruise yachts and such and its pretty rough out there at times!

reckon they would stand up to the corrugations better than some chassis

Re: Sunland caravans go lithium...
I think the cupboards would fall off and the interior start to break away before the lithium batteries had an issue. The military testing the Chinese did was quite savage including blasting them with an AK 47 rifle and then throwing them into muddy water and in the ocean to see if they would explode. Then they put them on a shaker bed with shock movement in all directions but I can't remember how many mtr per sec or the frequency off hand, but I think it was for 2 hrs. Then they conducted a fully load (3C) capacity test, recharge and then repeated the test for 3 sessions. I believe Winston and Sinopoly were the only 2 Chinese cell manufacturers to pass all the tests and still deliver the rated capacity.

Our Lithiums didn't miss a beat over the Dowling Track, the Great Central Road, the Oodnadatta Track and the Birdsville Track (not to mention the many minor dirt roads we covered on our 27,500km, 7 month jaunt). There were one or two corrugations in that lot!

Glad you are both still happy with the set up. That was great test of just how robust the whole system is. You try to build it with that in mind but it's an unknown till it's actually put to the test.Swisslulu wrote:Our Lithiums didn't miss a beat over the Dowling Track, the Great Central Road, the Oodnadatta Track and the Birdsville Track (not to mention the many minor dirt roads we covered on our 27,500km, 7 month jaunt).
