I am in the market for an android tablet and was thinking this 11.6" VOYO A15 would do the trick. It is not too expensive and the reviews have been good. Can anyone comment on them or even give other tab suggestions?

Re: Which Tablet
Craig I know if it was me I would be trying to get one with built in GPS & SIM card facility internal.
I know you can connect via WiFi to a 3G/4G device but for SOME uses it would be good to have it (SIM) inside it.
I looked at them a while back & at that stage I think Samsung were the only one that fitted my specs.
I still haven't got one yet..........

Re: Which Tablet
One of the main uses is for accessing Geomaps when in the goldfields and with that I have a plug in GPS. GeoMaps is very finicky and will not operate with a lot of built in GPS's. As for the sim, I will always be with the smart phone which I set up as a hotspot.
The first thing that attracted me to this tab is the "CPU is the Samsung Eyxnos 5250, Cortex-A15 dual core, 2.0GHz, GPU: Mali-T604". It must have the 2 Gig RAM to operate smoothly when using the maps and recording the tracks.
I would really like to buy the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 edition) but at about double the price I will probably stick to the cheapy. (I hope I don't regret skimping out)

Re: Which Tablet
No idea on the numbers, but Margaret bought an Aldi tablet and is quite impressed with it for the money spent. No doubt the next step will be a Surface Pro so she can have a genuine Windows 8 operating system, but for the moment, she is happy with her Aldi unit.

Re: Which Tablet
Dont skimp and go for the samsung. Mine is about 18months old. The better half got the top specced one that was available in july after her other one crashed once too often. Movies maps books etc. They make the perfect gps. Usually we leave the laptops behind now when we go away

No thanks, I don't want to restrict the way we use it. ie music & programes we use etc. Besides going down that track of apple vs android, Samsung works and apples performance over the last couple of years leaves a lot to be desired.

Re: Which Tablet
Unfortunately Martin, I doubt that any inbuilt GPS will work with GeoMaps

Re: Which Tablet
Bruce bought me an Apple & i'm very happy with it.
Think you get what you pay for with them so maybe the better Samsung is the way to go if you like the Samsung.
