Vinyl murals

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Not on Wilbor, but when we were doing a bit of work at Longreach (I was driving the paddle wheeler and Chris was the bus driver and camp boss) the bus had been done in vinyl and looked great. I thought at the time that vinyl would be a good option to an expensive paint job, you can even put it over window glass

The down side is in the extreme heat of mid summer it's only good for a short period before it starts to lift where ever there is an edge or rivet or high spot or a dent. This was a common problem on the buses so longer term advertising was applied to sheets of galvo and then attached in slide on frames, the shorter term all over bus saturation type advertising was applied directly

Did hear you should clear coat the vinyl but that sort of defeats the purpose. Maybe need to find a decent air brush man if I decide on it. In two minds about it at the moment so who knows....

Dirk we have had a mural put on the back of our bus. Done by the local sign people. The material he used has some sort of uv filter in it. And it is not expected to fade for some years. But I will treat that claim with some caution. It replaced a similar one and if it sticks like the old one it will not fall off in a hurry. Any other info on it just ask. Steve

Ahhh, who and where...... If its the "other forum" I haven't bothered with it for ages. Had heaps of trouble with the password crap over and over so gave it away as a bad joke.
