We have a month booked off from 11 August this year.
Our plan is to spend as much as possible of it parked up at Cleaverville, which is between Karratha and Roebourne.
If you are over this way and that far north, would be great to meet up/ catch up/ swap lies/ etc etc
Cleaverville is on the coast, and on the edge of the Ningaloo Reef. Its $7 per vehicle per night (unless its gone up this year) theres dump points scenery, fishing and plenty of grey nomads as well as the occasional wannabe nomad. No power, no drinking water, and nearest shops about 20 km. Gravel road in and out, it can be rough, but is 2wd unless it rains. Pre bookings not available, phone signal can be dodgy.
Any intentions can be posted here if you wish, or just turn up and see if you can spot the swagman
you have plenty of notice now,
"tanks" here-- AT LAST, I WILL GET TO SIT WITH THE 'POPE' AND SEE THE "POPEMOBILE".
There is a brochure on CLEAVERVILLE CREEK on the web which gives details about the campsite, and also there is info about GNOOREA POINY [40 mile beach campsite] www.roebourne.wa.gov.au
ATTN: DOT & GEORGE:---I have printed copies of both brochures and will post them over to you.
Both sites are well worth a visit, with Cleaverville Creek being closer to Karratha for resupply of essentials i.e. food and water and ICE CREAM.
Camping charges FOR BOTH CAMPSITES are: Overnight $7.00; Weekly $45.00; Monthly [28days] $150.00
As a suggestion, how about 1 month at Cleaverville, and then 1 month at 40 Mile Beach.
Bring a fishing line and catch your own food.
"Russell" is looking forward to the trip
