I just had a look on an F to C conversion chart, 125 deg F is 52 deg C so no wonder we were staggering. Within the week I was sitting on a tractor for 14 hr a day, no air con, no cab, not even a sun shade, can you imagine sending a 12yr old out to do that these days
Hot, hot, now this is HOT

Re: Hot, hot, now this is HOT
When I was 12yrs old I went on a train trip with my mother and sister to Gunnadah to stay on my uncles wheat farm. As we were arriving at the station the gaurd came through and told us the plateform temp was over 125degF and to head straight for the shade and wait there for someone to pick us up. The train was airconditioned so the temp shock was huge, the air was like it was coming out of an oven and the sudden heat made the knees buckle. 2 big burly station assistants came over and virtually carried mum into the shade.

At 12 I (and every other member of the troop) was sent out every Tuesday night for a year, rain, hail or warm, with 200 local newspapers to deliver.
Helped fund our Scout Troop.

Re: Hot, hot, now this is HOT
Had a cool change... last three days it has only reached 35°!
I was in long jeans for the doggie-walk at 0645 yesterday!
And does my new (well, to me it is) all-steel Heritage Green workshop get hot???

I guess this candle says it all...
