This has led me to look around at other insurers. I am wondering who others use and if you have had any experiences, good or bad, that you would like to share?

Which Insurance Company for your RV Insurance
I got my renewal notice from KTA the other day. It pointed out a change in condition to my cover. It seems after owning the motorhome for 2 years my sum insured changes from purchase cost to Market Value. They do of course want me to pay more for this change
The only other alternative is for me to provide a valuation for the motorhome every 2 years.

I prefer Winnebago Club insurance for our MH. It covers a whole lot more. Unless you have a 5th wheeler, then KT is the best I've seen. I maintained our car insurance through KT as his was the cheapest but last month I gave him the flick after yet another price rise and there was no way I was going to renew my CMCA membership just for the insurance. Value of car goes down yet insurance premium goes up
. And when you take into account the coast of CMCA membership it really isn't cheaper. So I did the dance of ringing around (as you do each year when the renewals come in) and ended up with "Progressive insurance" for the car.

Q re the Winnie insurance users please (hope I word this one right)
If you are disabled (your vehicle) in the middle of woop woop do they do the same service as the KT mob i.e come and tow you in etc
Queen of the Banal & OT chatter and proud of it. If it offends you then tough titty titty bang bang.

We have our car and Van insured with Raa When I lived in NSW it was GIOand have been with them for over40yrs
When we had a accident a few years ago they where great and so they should have been after that long
40yrs is a long time and I am a loyal costumer in these day I guess its a bit silly but that is how I feel
Hi to all take care Helen

4WD and the usual house insurance with APIA, they are brilliant. Even just signed up for funeral cover and got 20% off. Wife is upset as she doesn't cost as much as me to insure, guess I am just worth more.... During the floods here in 2009 they went out of their way to help and by far went beyond the normal restoration compared to the likes of NRMA.

Ditto, after six years that's gone too.Craig wrote:... there was no way I was going to renew my CMCA membership just for the insurance...
dawg (and CMCA didn't even ask why I was leaving - must be a common occurrence)
Experience is a wonderful thing. It helps you recognise a mistake when repeated.

Not sure, you need to check, but I understood that Winnebago Club insurance was only for vehicles 10 years or younger.

I believe you are thinking of club membership Peter, which is now 15 years for non Winnebago MH's.

Re: Which Insurance Company for your RV Insurance
Thanks for all the info. I didn't know that you could join the Winnebago Club if you didn't own a Winnebago. I will give them a try and see what they offer and what price. Otherwise it looks like CIL for me. Thanks again everyone.
