We have already completed one trip around Oz and now on our second trip, trying out new places we missed the first time.
What a great start to our trip finding this little gem! Right in town - population 900. Great spot next to a creek, with shady trees, green lawns and quiet. Next to two large ovals, 2 lawn bowls greens, BMX track and beautiful well laid out golf course. There is a dump point, with flushing loos.
The town is very friendly. post office, newsagent, IGA and a great pub!. What more could you ask for.
When you come in, there is a sign saying no camping. The council have not got around to changing the sign yet, I was told. the camping area is where you then turn left and follow the road towards the tennis courts. Camp anywhere along that road, next to the creek.
We are very impressed with this friendly town. It was a delight to see so many young people playing sport - hundreds of them on Friday afternoon. A town with 10,000 people would have been pleased with so many young people out and about playing sport....let alone a town of just 900! You also won't see any graffiti or empty stubbies or softdrink tins laying around, either.
We played golf yesterday and then went for a delightful drive up to Minnamurra Rain Forest and waterfalls. It is only 15 minutes drive to the famous Kiama Blowhole.
It is not a large camp area, but big rigs could fit. But may have to reverse out. It will take about 5 -6 large caravans and tugs.
