Now the discount is only 4c ltr there is no real point in filling 2 of the vehicles at a time, the 6 ltrs of milk is now paid for by the 4c plus 4c for the spend in the shop, so still worth doing. There is alway a snag in every plan though, yesterday we both bought fuel without knowing the other needed to buy fuel, we now have 13 ltrs of milk in the fridge
Do you still use the fuel discount dockets?

Do you still use the fuel discount dockets?
When there were 16c and 20c or more discount dockets available if yo made a $200 in one go shop, we would make an effort to spend the extra to stock up on items. The trip to the servo require a team effort, at least 2 of the fleet were fueled up on the discount price and the $5 min spent at the shop to get the extra 4C per ltr. This became a ritual including 3 x 2ltr milk. When the fuel purchase was close to the 150ltr max mark, the extra 4 cents discount paid for the milk, so in effect, the milk purchase was free. 2 x 2ltr milk and a paper actually paid us 60cents for doing it
Now the discount is only 4c ltr there is no real point in filling 2 of the vehicles at a time, the 6 ltrs of milk is now paid for by the 4c plus 4c for the spend in the shop, so still worth doing. There is alway a snag in every plan though, yesterday we both bought fuel without knowing the other needed to buy fuel, we now have 13 ltrs of milk in the fridge

Re: Do you still use the fuel discount dockets?
Terry I'm yet to work out how it all works.
In Murray Bridge it can be done so I'm working out the best way to do it.
Can I get some as diesel, some as petrol and the litres combined or is it one pump/one fill per docket?

Re: Do you still use the fuel discount dockets?
I just let the attendant know what the plan is and they seem to be happy to do what ever is needed to make it all in one purchase. We have put both petrol and LPG into Kombi and diesel into the Mazda and they were fine with it, even let us go over the 150ltr discount limit, on a 30 cent docket that meant another 34c per ltr off so well worth the effort and much appreciated
The best docket we ever got was 60c ltr, with the added 4c for the milk purchase, at that stage the 70ltrs of LPG were at no cost
the price has gone up from 64c/ltr to 94c/ltr due to the tax rip off.

Where was that at Peter? We haven't ever found them to restrict it if you ask first.

The Coles offer states: This receipt provides 4c/L off the fuel pump price (including LPG) at Coles Express. Limit 1 receipt per fuel purchase up to 150L per vehicle per customer.

If needed, I always used to mix; diesel in the bus tank and ULP in the Jerry for the generator. Never had any problems, but that was then and this may be now. Times change eh?

I think every cent helps but Pauls forgets to show the card when in service station.
We try to keep our tank around 3/4 full so there is not a lot going in the tank
Great idea though.
Take care Helen

Re: Do you still use the fuel discount dockets?
I only use them if I have a current one.
I filled the swagman today (well I put $250 worth in) 1.57c l for biodiesel got me just over 155l or so Not full but with whats in the tank, around 800k worth
I try to buy petrol on the Monday or Tuesday of the cycle, preferably after a coles trip. closest fuel is a coles lot and so is the grocery shop.
