RV Homebase, Maryborough Qld

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Yes, Dot. Have been checking out appliances, need new lounge chairs, dining table and outdoor setting. We managed to sell some of our stuff with the house as it was too big/unsuitable for the new place. Why are dining tables so BIG? Hard to find something the right size that we like. Terry, it's kinda nice that you would like us to be there and we would love to be but it's just not meant to be this time.
Cheers

We've been framed! Photos supplied by our Sales Consultant today:

Settlement went ahead as scheduled on 2nd April and we have been camped at the Lawnton Showgrounds since while tying up loose ends and saying goodbye to family and friends.

We will head up to Standown Park on the Gympie-Tin Can Bay Road next Wednesday till after Easter and then decide whether to move closer to Maryborough (there are not many non-CP options around there) or just do the round trip when we need to see the builder.
Cheers

Lesley I don't know if you know there is a free 72Hr camp at Kandanga, went past it last week looked ok about 6 or so happy campers. No power but toilets across the road. Might get a bit busy over Easter? You can Google it.

Thanks, Bernie. CAW#6 says it is 24 hours only. I guess that has changed?? Really trying to find somewhere that we can stay longer term. I'm planning to call the Scout Camp at Aldershot after Easter as they advertise camping on their website. We will have our second car with us as well so that limits us a bit but, if we decide to remain at Standown Park, the round trip to Maryborough in the i30 won't be too expensive.

My mate moved to the RV Home base in January they stayed at the Home base in their motor home for free, their home was about where yours was when they went there. have you checked that out?

That is no longer an option, Bernie. That is what we were told when we signed up but now it is a max. 2 night stay. We were told it was because there was so much demand for people wanting to stay. We don't want to pack up and move every couple of days. RV HB have come to an arrangement with the CP near the bridge for a special rate for the likes of us but we just hate CPs so would rather spend the extra money on fuel to drive there when needed.

Goodo, that's the Wallace CP (Carol worked there about 20 years ago) on the north don't remember the name of the one on the south side.
Old mate had major Surgery maybe they gave him a special deal?

No, it was standard practice that all could stay there for nix during the duration of the build. It has only changed recently - just our luck!

With luck like that I wouldn't rush out and buy a lottery ticket.
We have been on the HB mailing list since before they actually had a HB.
We don't want to move there but was a option once.
