The Sucker Punch - NSW Style

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Strictly non political comment:

Sad thing is that it might not have been recognized at the time for what it was. I wonder if a wine trifle or a beef in red wine goulash is any better when made with a $3000 bottle.

I sure hope he enjoyed it, it cost him a lot more than $3,000. Any pollie accepting a gift must realise there will be strings attached, doesn't that make it bribery? Isn't it illegal to bribe govt officials? The next step must surely be prosecution of the person offering the bribe.

Nothing political about my posts, Barry. Just pointing out the risk in making such adamant assertions about another person's internal state. Almost as silly as the ex-smoker or the newly skinny saying things like "If I can do it, anyone can".

No Iza.... I'll defend Barry on that one.
It was a general comment in regards to the forum.
I think this thread is JUST acceptable as it's more about people offering or accepting pay-ola as thankyou's for favours either done or about to be done.
It filters right down the chain......... scones, paella, cheese dips or maybe just a pat on the back!!
(in my case it's an evening cruise!!)
I personally don't see that much wrong with it UNLESS it changes policy or gives someone or some company unfair advantages.
Let's keep it friendly guys & gals!! ;) ;)

Its was heading to give someone an advantage, trouble is it was intercepted before the advantage was fulfilled. Terry is right, doesn't matter these people are in a place of trust. That trust is now non existent these days on either side of the fence...... Doesn't matter who you vote for, you don't get what or who you voted for anyhow. We need administrators not lying self admiring politicians.

Iza,
Getting back to my OP...

If you are convinced that Bazza is not mentally impaired because he really didn't remember a gift of that value & significance, and was genuinely convinced he did not receive it, I still can't see him forgetting that he penned a note of thanks. The physical act should have been capable of recall, even if the passive act of receiving the gift was not.

And his mentally non-impaired decision to write a thank-you note - IMHO - still makes him either incredibly naive or stupid!
Either of which should preclude him from politics, let alone leading the State!

... which was my opening statement in the OP. We have come full circle... :P
