Best quote ever...

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

I'm now 87 years old, having experienced another birthday, and I'm still living in WA, single (gave up looking), white hair, no teeth, no money, no worries.
I plan to have another birthday next year.

He was a king, and he did have something to do with his mistreated women.

Cicero's Rome had fewer than a million.
There was no single world wide government back then, just as there is no single world wide government now - therefore I suggest the quote is just as valid now as it was then.

Barry, a few years ago I suggested you remove your teacher/headmaster hat... I now reiterate that suggestion. You are conversing with educated members here!

Chuck, a little bit of edumication doesn't hurt us. Yes I know we are adults and many of us have lots of letters after our names, but in the scheme of things, who give a rats about how smart/edumicated anyone is?

Barry, perhaps you is going a little over the top..and don't correct my lack of good grammar.. I choose to write this way.

Now, can we get back to being nice in the sand box please?

Corporations took over agriculture in Roman times and the displaced rural farmers moved to the city to live in poverty. Those corporate entities had an alternative to the combine harvester of today. Rome became dependent on cheap imports from outside to supply its needs as it could not produce sufficient for itself. It is correct to argue that we have learned little in two millennia but it is not for the reasons Cicero gives except possibly the bit about arrogance.

I see that Martin is catching on about Titus for Tatius.
