People if you are thinking of going on the G.C.R. miss the bit from Eyres Rock to the WA boarder its so bad...
Came over there today and its a shame on the powers that be in the NT. Some one is a sleep that looks after that bit of road. When in WA the roads are good, Had a little rain to lay the dust, hopfuly no more.
If all goes well will be back on the black tomorrow night...
Had a flat tyre, a narsty bit of molgura wood, nothing that a plug couldnt fix..
fuel price a $1.30 for diesel is the highest so far, being out here thats fine...

Ps. It was that rough that the fire extinguisher near the door came lose with its bracket (pulled its screws) !!

I thought you were supposed to go slow across the centre? Take time to smell the dust etc.

Thats the reason we dont travel with others, not that we dont like good company that is. We hate traverling you see, when one gets to the spot then its time to relax , untill then its all Burners lite.
Hows the back Dot hope alls going as it should, n Jackie hasnt seen or run into any stray dingos, did see one today , she dont go out for wets on her own at night , she would be a push over snack.
Ok get well and get on the road soon... It is fun out here some times.

Had to smile here, I get the permit and a nice little Chinees girl did the typing, Im looking over it tonight and see Im driving a Land Rower .... It took 2 hours to find where to get it at the rock,and 3 hours for it to run out. Cos I see its only for that little bit of .....rough land they call a road to the wa boarder.. I now find out I dont have a permit.... But thats our govment for you. where would we be with out their help. lost in the never never I guess. Bloody hell....
AND to make one smile it has tomorrows date on it so I got here before I should have started.. dose that mean I have to go back and start again....????

Casino John has just come through from the other direction, he says the 120km at laverton end is just as bad as that around Dockyer River, but the bit in the middle was ok. He reporeted worst price he paid was $2.65 ltr. He says they plan to tar it soon, so i guess the $$ are being saved to go towards that rather than maintenance.

There is nothing like driving on the tar is there, made Leanora around 5 ish today and all good.
Only saw 7 dingos 1 emu, LOTs of car wrecks, some nice mountain ranges, lots of dust, but most of all rows of little waves of dirt across the road, made driveing very hard at times. It must take a lot of time to make them, then some fool just runs over the lot. All I can say is lucky they dont do that on the tared road ...
Now heading to the coast.... Looking like rain as well, that will save me a job washing the van , Plus I didnt get asked for that bit of paper in wa...We are all smiles...
