Both sites are near the ferry, the other side of the river is the Town of Mannum and the Caravan Park.

Look pretty and convenient.

How does your Optimum handle the ferries along that part of the river, Russell?

It does look like a nice spot.

It always makes me wonder about the heinous crime of dropping grey water on grass, trees and in the bush when you see campers with a shower tent 5m from the waters edge!!!

It also amuses me when some Councils encourage householders to put grey water on the lawn and on plants to conserve water

Ah well, each to their own I guess

Russell we need a very recent update on that parking area as Derek & Jo suggested they were charged for parking there. I suspect they were not in that free area at all. There's no power in the free area but nice toilet block.

PS. were those photos taken from the paddle steamer?

Not tested yet, scrape bum on service stations and some CPs so I guess thats gunna happen again. Back in the Big Dry we were told not to use the Wellington Ferry and we were towing a caravan with a Navara.

Yes it has a big bum with a tow bar to scrape, its scary.

Yes, mostly whilst sampling local produce.

In Caravan Parks, I always ask whether they want the grey water on the grass. I can't remember any time when the manager has not said that it is fine to run the water on the grass. I use the hose to spread the water around and not go under the van - mine or anybody else's.

I worry a little bit when it's really hot washup water & runs directly out of the hose & burns a spot. Shower water is usually OK by the time it hit's the ground.
I know Wendy often has the water that hot for dishes I can't begin to put my hands in it.
Years of working in kitchens in cafe's and roadhouses etc has probably cooked all her nerves I guess. A couple of dips into hot fat cooking chips probably finished them off!!!
I've NEVER thought it a problem ... just ask first of course!

Attached photo shows how I solve the big bum problem - need to maintain straight line while the castor is in contact with the ground.
