Thank you for the kind comments. I haven't been ignoring you all for the past couple of days, however, we have been at The Pub in the Paddock at Pyengana. There is no mobile phone/internet coverage there nor is there TV - Just good company, great meals and good beer. Also fed a beer to the beer drinking pig - now Pinky. Some of you may have known Priscilla the beer drinking pig but I suspect Priscilla is now bacon; or died of old age!

Those of you who have visited the Pub in the Paddock before might have met Ann. She no longer operates the pub but her daughter Rowena and the daughter's husband Scott operate it.

No fun loving tourist should visit Tasmania without visiting the Pub in the Paddock. Rowena and Scott are happy to have Moterhomers and Vanners park in the paddock free of charge. There are no facilities so you need to be self contained. Of course you might only drop in for morning tea or lunch and buy the pig a beer - $1.00.

Proof that the pub is in a paddock.

While we were parked in the paddock for two nights we had foggy, frosty condition that made the grass/ground very soft and slippery. The front wheel drive couldn't move the 5 tonne an inch. Not to worry - the trusty Daihatsu Terios did the job just fine. Talk about David and Goliath!

Halls Falls near Pyengana - much prettier than the nearby and much more promoted St Columba Falls, which although the highest falls in Tasmania, are not attractive.

We met this couple at the Pub in the Paddock - him 75 yrs and her 70. They drove from Bay of Fires where they live to Pyengana for lunch.

Are they living the dream, or what?

Went into a forest near Launceston yesterday where "herself" went on one of those flying fox things that goes from tree to tree 400ft above the ground. I didn't feel the need.

Thanks, Dot. Lunch was great. Went to the Tramcar Museum in Launceston then back to the pub.
