Re: Grub at work
I have a slightly more flash one to deal with the black tank. Then I flush with the grey tank. Rinse with clean water, done.

Re: Grub at work
When I was at Mt Robinson speaking to a motorhomer and cmca member about things such as the grey water issue she told me she had been told by a ranger in a national park that the reason was that it (grey water) would encourage unwanted grasses /weeds to grow there. I have no idea if that would be the case or not but the point is if you are requested not to do it somewhere then you don't do it. So I have been told on many occasions
I have even had letters and mowing the grass holidays for disobeying the powers that be.

You had better be careful Dot, or you might get that smacked bottom that someone owes you. I am fairly certain that person now resides in WA.

Cheers

How many in the cmca club, 60.000 or there abouts, then add on the ones not in any club and are just tootling about , could be 100,000 people on the road at one time or another, maybe more. They all start dumping grey water, willy nilly ,cause some dont care, what sort of a mess you going to have.I know you got a big island but .....bagmaker wrote:for the cost of a length of garden hose, spray handle and a $60 macerator pump,

why don't folks just pull over somewhere quiet where the ground is thirsty and water the grass?
Seems we could be doing some good here too

Re: Grub at work
Norman, most of them over here simply don't get it. The ass umption is that any water is good water, no consideration for the ecology of the area. Most aussies have never experienced living in a waterlogged area for any length of time, and don't get that water additives may be bad for the area when dumped indiscriminately. The accumulation effect is not acknowledged either.norman wrote:How many in the cmca club, 60.000 or there abouts, then add on the ones not in any club and are just tootling about , could be 100,000 people on the road at one time or another, maybe more. Re: Grub at work
We are currently staying in a primitive camp, sign says all grey water & black water to be disposed of in dump point. Caretaker has grey water hose running along the grass into a ditch, so what is the use of the sign? Also says tap in kitchen is for kitchen use only he has a hose connected to same back to his van? Why would anyone else obey the sign?
One has to wonder.

Re: Grub at work
Because he is a volunteer caretaker doesn't make him a clever caretaker. He just wants a cheap place to camp for an extended period. Imagine what he does at other stops when he is not the "caretaker"
