Oh No!! I'm sorry to hear about that Peter! I knew you took a tumble but didn't know you injured yourself.
Maybe a trip on the boat that next time is in a walk on - walk off situation will lesson the pain?
Anytime you're in our neck of the woods please let me know!!

Re: The GG's & D,G & Miss Meow are away.
What a bludgers day we had. A beautiful warm day, the sea was so calm and flat it inspired Keevo aka Chris to get his super kayak off the top of his car and into the water with fishing rods on board a good launch was achieved. Wendy & Ash also trotted down to the water and they also went a paddling off, Ash ended up over on one of the little islands (rocky outcrop) stood up and showed off a wee bit then came back to shore. Wendy was a bit more cautious as she isn't too cool with the ocean as yet so she was quite happy for Catriana to hop in for a test paddle as long as Wendy held the rope. Then the real entertainment happened at the boat ramp
A young buck decided to go off the designated slip way to launch his biggish boat but he was too far into the sand and the tide was not being kind, his 4x4 wheels were getting further down in the water until a nice man came to his rescue with his snatch strap. First attempt was a flunk but the second bolt up the sand finally hauled the embarrassed lads up the ramp and into the carpark not to be seen again
I was amazed at the people that just stood right next to the vehicles that were involved with the snatch strap extraction
anyway happy hr was upon us once more and after a while some of us went for a beach walk and watched the red sun slowly going down on another sunny warm day. By the way Keevo got some good bites but the one he wanted was about half an inch undersize so there was no fish for supper tonight. Always tomorrow so they say.

Re: The GG's & D,G & Miss Meow are away.
Today the wind was a bit strong to go out fishing but the marine police were here doing their work (to the shock of one or two) Commando Bob shared his water trip with us and soon Bev was out showing us the work of a midnight fruit nibbler, one of her apples had been gnawed as well as a pear. Instant clean up of the annex and CB's moth balls were quickly dispersed around. Then at 3 pm it was time to head off along a track to another part of the beach to look for shells. As soon as we got there it was every person for themselves with the instructions, "Don't pick up a Cone shell, don't step on a stone fish, watch out for sting rays and octopuses" and they aka Commando Bob, Bev, Ash & Jacky. Wendy hung around with us novices for a while then buggered off to greener pastures. Keevo aka Chris & Glennys also came for a quick search but after a while it was too tough on Glenny's back so they headed home (smart idea) Chuck headed for shore after an hr or so and fast behind him was Annaconda man. So all alone ducking the octopuses stone fish and cone fish Catriana and I were soon joined by Jacky as she had been deserted by her shell intent parents and couldn't get through the deeper water so I ended up with said dog under my arm, being squirted at by clams and attacked by killer crabs still trying to stay away from the creatures of the deep that would kill us. In the distance we heard the dulcet calls from Bev asking have we seen Jack? yes we replied so I put her down and Bev still had a job to coax her through the water to be reunited again with mum and dad. Catriana & I were exhausted from the fear of the attacking crabs etc so we headed for the safety of the beach and a drink leaving the others way out there on their search for the elusive great shell. When we saw them all heading for shore we decided they were ok so we headed for home. We got some nice shells but had no clue what they are and that will have to wait till tomorrow to see what the other hunters managed to get.

Re: The GG's & D,G & Miss Meow are away.
A rather good day, wind had dropped and the temp was hitting 31deg with a beaut sea breeze. Catriana and I escaped into town (no boys) and we did every shop in town I reckon. Went and asked how much for a hair trim (female) $47 if a senior did it and $20 for a junior
decided against that. After we had got what we wanted and things we didn't want we stopped off on the way back home to top up the containers with water as pr instructions.
Once again the Commando & wife along with Ash & Wendy headed off again in pursuit of the elusive spider shell. After happy hr Catriana along with a friend of theirs Greg and I decided to also go out for a shell expedition but just out the front, we saw a star fish, a yucky black slimy slug thing, a few more little octopussies, and a large clam plus the usual fighting crabs and some spitting things in the sand. The other mob arrived back not too long ago and they all must be stuffed as have not heard a peep out of any of them. This sea air is so tiring.

Yeeeeeee Harrrrh found my elusive spider shell that's one for me 2 for B&B Wow they are beautiful, just a pleasure to see. 2 nights doing 3 hours each evening scouring the reef. Scramble back only to be faced with loose high sand dunes to get to the cars......hard work!!!! But loved every second of it.

Just had a knock at the door and standing there with a cray in his hand was CB offering it to us but alas I am allergic to shell fish so some other forumite will love it. I am hanging out for a lovely fresh snapper.
