G,Day all
We are at 40 mile Beach until Monday morning then its of towards Exmouth for us, Tanks arrived back here this morning and I caught up with him late this afternoon and had a couple of beers with him and his side kick Russell along with a million black ants, (no fault of Tanks), Dot had informed me that Keith had had a haircut and shave, which he would have done with Dot for the Greatest Shave Fund raiser if he didn't have to go back to Perth to get his M/H repaired, she also asked me to get a shot of the new Tanks image which is attached (I hope) to this post.
We have been here for 8 weeks and met some great people and overall it has been a very good stay, a bit windy at times, the temps have been around 28 av every day with a sea breeze most days, if it wasn't 7000Ks from home we would be back next year.
Cheers

"tanks" here--- No hair- no beard- still no teeth- no worries- no longer-----Hi there to all, I [we--Leon and I] will be departing this spot to return to Perth on Tuesday or maybe Wednesday.
Caretaker Leon had some Shire business to attend in Karratha and he should be back on site sometime Monday. His "house" is all packed and ready to roll. He went up-the-creek on Monday morning to fill his freezer with mud crabs for his lot in Perth. The trip back to the South will take us about 2 or 3 days, or maybe 1 week. I will probably be out of contact while on the road.
We won't be doing the tourist thing on the trip South----just a few overnight stops along the way. Leon only goes along at around 85/90 kph, and likes to be off the road by 4:00pm; which is the way I travel, and a stop every 2 hours to stretch the bones and give "Russell" a walk and a wee on a tree to mark his spot.
What a wonderful time I have had over the past 5 months, most of this time spent at 40 Mile Beach. The Shire campsite has seen a few changes with the new toilets provided for the day visitors. I have met a lot of nice people on this trip and I miss you all.
My regret is that I was unable to be here for Dots' GREAT SHAVE, so I did my own thing as per the pic posted by [Keevo] Chris for you to see how I now look.
I hope to meet up with many of you again in the years to come as I move around this great country with my mate "Russell". I found Bob & Bevs green/blue bowl which I have to return. [Thanks for the pancakes Bev]. If you PM your postal address I can post the bowl to you.
There are only a handful of rigs remaining here now and the School holiday visitors are starting to arrive so it won't take too long before the place is full of action again.
On my return from Karratha Lodge on Sunday I was surprised to find 3 horses camped not very far from me. "Russell" was impressed with the horses being taken for a swim in the Indian Ocean. I intended to go across and have a chat with the horse people today after my afternoon siesta, however when I woke from a deep sleep the whole shebang had gone, horses- float- caravan ---the lot--and I did'nt even wake up with all of the activity.
The plan is now to house-sit Jeff & Pams house in Perth while they are o/seas on their honeymoon, and then return to the Wheatbelt
for a while before the next venture.
Keith.
ITS NICE TO MEET NICE PEOPLE
I'm now 87 years old, having experienced another birthday, and I'm still living in WA, single (gave up looking), white hair, no teeth, no money, no worries.
I plan to have another birthday next year.
