Not a pressure cooker they scare the beejeezus out of me so must be the microwave.
I now use the 90 second rice in the microwave unless doing creamed rice.

It was the Kogan 25ltr microwave/griller/convection oven. Young Eddie bought one a mth or so back, works fine on the batteries and inverter and turns out some great cooking, especially a great egg and bacon pie 8-) He keeps promising to make a chocolate cake but I still haven't seen one yet.... maybe he eats it all himself
Now, with a plug like that it should appear in the adds at the top of the page ;) For only $99 I think it's great value

Much easier way. Stick the required amount of rice into a container that has a good sealed lid. Boil the kettle/billy whatever, totally cover the rice with boiled water and now double the amount of water, give it a stir. Leave that aside (covered) while the rest of meal is being cooked. Takes about 20 minutes and all you do is check its done to your needs, drain it off and you got rice for dinner. No fancy cooking appliances needed.

Lazy way is to buy the precooked rice in little cups or packages, they say microwave, but I have been known to just add a little boiled water for good results too. You really only need to heat that stuff all the way through.

Hi Dot,

yeah, pressure cookers can go off! Ours has 2 separate pressure release safety mechanisms plus the normal pressure vent.
