Re: Bob n Bevs new tug
Free wheeling hubs for the rear 2 diffs, a slip yoke drive disconnect for the rear tailshaft and make it a front wheel drive for the road will improve the fuel economy. Bob and Bev are devoted caravan draggers now after having travelled extensively in a converted bus previously, so the extra carrying capacity is for toy hauling, the 6 x 6 drive is for getting the van and toys to spots that others can't, not a bad plan at all.

Re: Bob n Bevs new tug
I thought it was so he can help pull idiots out off the beach when they were trying to retrieve their boats and the tide is rising fast?
At $100 a shot he'd pay for the fuel!!
I definitely wouldn't be repainting it!! Pull into any service station & say "book it up to the Army mate!)
Can't wait to see where the chook cage is going to be!!!
Onyu Bob!!~

Bev thinks all Bob's ideas are good ideas, just the level of good varies from time to timeDot wrote:I want to hear Bev's opinion![]()

Got news for you Terry and it will amaze you
Bev does what all of us females do from time to time with the Mere Males in our lives, we PRETEND to agree with all they do and say BUT
Anyway I think they will have a great time with their new tug who gives a toss how many ks it does or what the colour is etc etc it is theirs, so pull fingers and be pleased for them .
just sayin

Bloody hell people,Its not that bad, fuel is the same with van or with out , cruzzzes @ 90 all day.. I drove it back from Dandenong 640 ks = 75 to 80lts IT has 2 tanks 68lts each . Will remove the rear drive sharft and just have it as a lazy axel..
Its a little wider than the standed rover, Bev will need a ladder to get in.. smile .... making a step...made a new tow bar with one of them pintelhook come 50 mm ball all in one..
One thing the Nulla servos wont get any $ now.. Looking for a nice 4x4 quad to put the boat in .... Yes Bruce there isnt any comp. on board how good is that.. can fix it my self. when its needed. They already gave me 2 full tanks of fuel when I picked it up... I tryed to fill it up after leaving the yard, took $2.90 worth :.....
In all fair ness she rides a little rough, and the noise level is up there. Can fix both...
Its all that gear when you get to where you are going that has me won. Bev can now have her bike. and thoes nice layback chairs or 2.. The boat n motor will have plenty of room, bet she wont sway much when a truck goes by as well ...
It was Bevs idea Dot, she couldnt stand to see me crying all the time...

Not sure that I'd remove the rear drive shaft. Given that it is normally lazy except when you engage it.
Great tug. Nothing better than that!

It's the tricky bit of decoding if they are saying what they mean or meaning what they say that catches me out every so often
