Not sure what caused the cell contents to burn, wasn't there when it happened. Had a good look at the cell yesterday before we got into the beer, baked pink eyes and native black back salmon, so will open it up later. It's bulged out, but only has a little hole in it.

We talked about it before the beer set in, he revealed when the drill went in smoke began to come out, he thought he saw what looked like a light inside the cell which was probably the first spark and that's when he bolted for the phone as then smoke jetted out of the cell.

These cells cases are made of aluminum, not plastic. They are designed for military applications and have to be tough and not melt the pack I believe. This may be why the others didn't start to melt or seem to be effected, even the blackened one beside it still has 3.4v this morning.
