Homeless Geriatric Gypsies

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Homeless Geriatric Gypsies

Post by Macca »

Where are you laying your little bodies to-night :?: Front yard must look very empty- a little like this house up here. Am really pleased with the amount of packing I have accomplished. Wish some one else would start.  Have literally a trailer full to take to Sally's Sat for a garage sale.

Here we are...

Sorry for the lack of continuity. MH was handed over at about 12:30 yesterday & in it's place there now resides a 2008 Landcruiser 200 series T/D V8 with twin turbos & just over 70K on the clock... barely run in. By the time we got the rego changed over & the disposal papers submitted on the Winnie & Suzy, then it was time to attend the NRMA office next door to arrange of the roadside service to be changed from the Suzy to the LC & finally insurance on the Cruiser. Followed that up with an email to OAMPS - the brokerage firm that handles the WInnie insurance for CIL - & had them cancel the insurance we'd paid only a couple of weeks ago... that'll be a nice little sum back in the wallet again. :D Finally a visit to Opposite Lock 4X4 in Penrith to have a set of Clearview mirrors fitted to the Cuiser... look 'em up on Google, ideal for towing.

By the time all that was done it was around 4:30 & we headed off direct down the Hume hwy - purely for expediency - & spent the night in a motel at Yass. Next morning was on our way by just after 7 intending to turn off at Wodonga to head up to Omeo via Falls Creek as we hadn't previously travelled that section of the Snowies. Wow! Great road for motor bikes, fantastic scenery just like the other routes up the Snowies ... but quite slow... something we had not really catered into our time frame. Hence... by the time we were back in phone reception it was around 3:30 & a phone call made to the people we were supposed to meet in Sale regarding the Crusader Manhattan mid afternoon  apologies all round & another meeting arranged for 10:00 Friday morning.

Spending the night at Bairnsdale.

More to follow...

Keep an eye on the oil level Chuckie and let us know how often you have to top it up. The Qld mines are giving them away in preference to the Ford Rangers apparently and you woldn't get more dedicated 'cruiser people than that lot. They say they can't keep oil in them and body mounts under them but the miners no doubt give them a hard time.

Funny you say that T1.
My yachty neighbour had a V8 one in imaculate condition but after chatting to a few pro fishermen who bought them for tax purposes he swapped it for the 4.2 version.
Several told him that the v8 hasn't as yet got some 'bugs' ironed out.
The person he swapped it with may well be known to some of us as it is now used to pull a 5th wheeler...... (sorry... caravan!!)
I'd hate to be a mechanic to work on the V8! I doubt there's room for a mouse to squeeze in under the bonnet.
No doubt Chuck & Co will have a very good run with it though.
