Very lucky lady indeed. Maybe caravan parks should be black banned if they have dangerous trees on their property that might bring a tear to their pockets.

OK same applies to anywhere that you are paying for a spot to stop National parks should be free as they belong to the people of this country. Apologies fo my mistake cp assumption. But many many cp's do have dangerous gum trees on their property (just sayin)Jim wrote:This happened in a NPWS ground.

National Parks may belong to the people of this country - so how about visitors to this country.
I wonder how many people of this country have done anything in a NP to make it more presentable to visitors?

We stayed there december 2013 did not like the place at all, to many big gum trees to much fire hazard on the ground.

The Lane Cove N.P. Area where the tree fell is set up as a C.P. Closest that you can get to the city of Sydney.

And that's one of the reasons that it's not free (as some would want).Shirley wrote:The Lane Cove N.P. Area where the tree fell is set up as a C.P. Closest that you can get to the city of Sydney.
Was there quite a few years back in a cabin - enjoyed it. One of these days may return in the m/h.

Great base for anyone wanting to see the Sydney area, bus up to Chatswood onto a train to the city, Ferry to Manly or the Zoo, Ferry up the Parramatta River to Parramatta, heaps of sites to visit in Sydney City, one could go on & on .

I think it's a case of Aussie's knowing which gum trees are widow makes and which ones as safe, just look for the wrinkly arm pits, they are safe, the others aren't, overseas visitors should be educated regarding this if they plan to camp out in Aust. It's not just the wildlife, fish and spiders that want to kill you, even the trees like to get in on the act.
