"tanks" here---
Hi there N-George and others on the Forum;
I am still at Dot & George's place watching the S.A. fire situation.
The plan is that I will depart Strathalbyn on Monday for Port Augusta and points West.
Mind you, it is hard to leave this place and the animals here who are friendly towards "Russell". He has made mates with 2 dogs who live on the property next door, and has a regular chat with "Pete". [We do keep him away from Dot's pussy, but he does have a sniff around from time to time].
When I'm on the road I will update the progress of my return to then West as and when I can get a signal from Telstra.
Keith.

The fires have been a worry, saw on TV where an animal shelter lost several cats & dogs in S.A. Think it was an animal motel.
We haven't really had the hot weather 23c here today & a N.E. Wind blowing keeping us cool.

Yes, Shirley,
It WAS a 'Pet Motel'. Lost two of the three buildings - along with dogs & cats therein - to the fires.
Bet they're not looking forward to advising owners their pets died in the fire. :(

Tanks,
How's the trip home going?
:? Still got your fuel-tank keys?
:D
Had a similar situation when I either left fuel cap at s/stn or cross-threaded it after filling in outback NSW.
Result: next fuel stop -- NO CAP!
Had to buy one on-the-spot & toss the old fuel key (which was conveniently labelled 'GAS' moulded into key :( ) :(
A right PIA.
Make sure now that cap is securely threaded & locked. Might look at adding a chain before next Big Trip...
Regards & God bless,
Ray

Tanks and Russell left Strath around 10am today. I last spoke to him around 7pm and he was having tea in the RSL at Pt Augusta and then will be making his way to his night stop . All is going well.
