Windscreen washer

Post by Dot »

What windscreen cleaners do you lot use in your cars/m/h's washers? ready made or home made?

Good clean drinking water with about 5% metho in it.
You'll know when the metho runs out!!
Same on the MH or boat windows with the squeegee.

Dot, In my own vehicles I use a product called 'Bug Off'. It is sold at most auto parts places. In my work van I put a teaspoon of dishwashing detergent every time I refill the water. Both products seem to have the desired effect.

Dot,

Most car accessories places have concentrated mixes of various brands... I've used a few &, like Bruce I add metho. My reservoir in the Cruiser holds about 3L so I add a bit less than 1/4 cup.

The product currently sitting in front of me is an SCA brand, bright blue liquid concentrate in a flatish 1L container with 2 x caps, the second is over a measuring device in the top of the container. Undo the measure cap & squeeze the main body of the bottle & it pushes the liquid up into the measure area. I put 30 ml in then tip it into the car receptacle followed by the metho then fill with water.

Love the fresh smell of the metho when you hit those wipers/washer.

Same deal as Cuck, but we found a red liquid under the Castrol brand name seems to work the best at removing diesel film and dried bugs off the windscreen. Be careful if using the Bars Bugs brand that you do not over does the mix or it will attack the wiper blades and leave them looking like crinkle cut chips
