Forum news from cmca book

Post by Dot »

the Club celebrated the inauguration of the 100th CMCA chapter in January, and many members are elated to hear that a CMCA Forum will be launched later this year, which is sure to be a valued member benefit.

I'm sure it can be a great member benefit too, it just needs to be run properly with good moderators and admin with limits set on the squeaky wheel aspect of member complaints. Many forums have been wrecked by a very small minority trying make the forum exactly fit their mindset. Without it being open to many different views and doing away with the offence by proxy it suffered before, I think it will struggle, but good luck to them and it's great to see a change within the board has brought a change in attitude.

Just need to decide if I give them a second chance. They weren't to interested in why I and many others jumped ship.

I think that the new board members have put a broom through that place and I am prepared to give them a go, if or when the new forum gets a start. There is some bloody excellent technical data on that site which, up until recently was lost for all money.
However, regardless of what happens over there I will continue to post here as I have made some good friends over the past few years, goodness me, is it that long?
Cheers

I will give it a try without abandoning here, however they will have to have a much better policy on moderators, they ran the old one as a bloody fiefdom and that is why so many people who had access stayed away, if you need names am happy to supply. Bloody hypocrites, that is why it all fell in a heap.

I found their forum to be too strict and stuffy for me (got the boot too), but something in the back of my mind keeps telling me: "if you play basketball, join a basketball club, if you drive a camper van join cmca, if its a caravan, it aint cmca material, they don't want you"

I do feel the treatment of all members on here is much more friendly and democratic than that place ever was.

Is it actually coming back? I heard from a director that they will be making a decision when the board meets this month - so that person was not able to verify its return at that time of contact.
