A Terrible Day

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Yes, the Message is:
Treasure every day.

Twenty years ago I was diagnosed with a bone marrow cancer, which had such a hold on my marrow that the Drs gave me two weeks!

Being a Stubborn Bastard, I refused to co-operate & rapidly drop off the twig. Told the Drs I was determined to see my daughter's 21st... she was NINE at the time. Drs shook their heads & thought I was delirious.
She will celebrate her 29th in a coupla months. So there!

Had a friend with a low-level lung infection he'd had for years. Affected him like mild asthma. Nothing he couldn't handle with Dr's assistance. I had lined him up to deliver my eulogy when the time came.
Last June we made a desperate dash to Brisbane - the infection had run rampant & he was having difficulty breathing, even with first oxygen bottles then an oxygen concentrator.
We spent three days yarning & just being with him. He was calmly accepting of his imminent death.
He died two weeks later.
His wife has since told me he appreciated my visit, and the sharing of our common face-off with death.

So, people, Treasure Every Day.

"Plan as though you'll live forever; live as if today is your last."
Regards & God bless,
Ray

Thanks Shirley, I missed seeing that one on the news, but I have had a lot of family/inside information. It has been a very scary week for our family, but thankfully the antivenom has done most of the work. Josh has to watch his heart closely for the rest of his life now, but that is a small price to pay, at least his children still have a dad to hug and care for them.

As Ray has just said,
live your life now and don't waste a minute of it. Treasure your life, you only get one chance at it

Thanks for sharing your story too, Ray.
