OK, I'll put them out of their misery, the she part is the horse, the famous bucking rodeo horse Curio and the rider is Alan Smith. It was 10 yrs before anyone stayed on Curio's back for the 10 secs, Alan Smith was the first person to do it. The town is Marrabel, pub on one corner, electricity sub station across the road and this monument on the diagonal of the cross rds from the pub. I saw her exhibit at the cattlemen's hall of fame in Longreach but I couldn't remember the town, I knew it was in South Aust as she originally came from the scrub near Oodnadatta or Innamincka, can't remember which it was, but it was off one of those huge properties. The back legs splayed like that was the give away, quite an amazing horse and I really think it was age that got the better of her, not her lack of talent or more skilful riders.Macca wrote:Ok Terry give us a photo please.
