Episode 2 Where the Mazda is moved out of the long grass
A quick connection of cables with bolts to link them together and lots of tape over the connections and Mazda fired into life, not bad considering the lithium batteries haven't been charged since Oct last yr yet the eng has been started off them a number of times.
Gather all the cables, hoses and other assorted things hanging out of holes and laying under the vehicle, move all the other cars out of the way so Mazda can be parked where Eddie's trailer lived for 12mths, no point in killing any more grass, select reverse and ..... It appears the rain over the last 6 mths has softened the ground some what compared to when the Mazda was driven in there, the right rear wheel sunk to the axle. Putting all my collected forum knowledge to work, I let the rear tyres down to 40 psi, and dug a bigger hole... hmm.... The Mazda is equipped with a front mounted winch, here was the chance to try it out. Unwrap all the insulation tape, join the wires for the winch into the spider web of bodgie cables, plug the winch control in and... presto, the cable started to feed out of the winch. Too easy I thought... and I was right. Anchored the cable to the base of the boys basketball hoop pole, started winching and attempting to drive the Mazda out at the same time.... 2 separate things were observed, the winch is anchored to the bulbar ad the bull bar is anchored to....not very much apparently, at the same time, with the back wheel buried to the axle a definite lean had developed resulting in the fuel pick up no longer being in the fuel as such.... hmm..... 5 ltrs of fuel into the tank, much cranking of the engine and away it went, now for the bulbar. Well, apart from ripping the support out of the body that looked as though it support the water pipe for the poles but in fact held the bulbar at a suitable distance from the front of the body, the bulbar and winch appeared to still be attached.... for the moment. More winching and wheel spinning and..... it came out of the hole. Celebrations all round, repositioned the Mazda into its new parking spot, out with the new self propelled lawn mower and cut down the jungle that had grown around the Mazda's previous parking spot. Now for the hole, there are a number of cupboard panels and door left after removing the original fit out, a few layers over the hole, looks good, park the kombi where the Mazda was..... looks can be deceiving, the kombi is now sunk to the rear bumper in said nicely covered hole, no doubt it will rain tomorrow just to make matters worse... ahh well, at least the beer is cold this time

T1,
As I discovered when disposing of a m/h some years ago, Silastic covers a multitude of leaky roof problems!
A storm had actually ripped a piece of roof out when I had the awning out. Held on by only the baseline piece.
Pushed the three-sided tear back sort-of into place, then filled the half-inch gap with silastic. Buyer either didn't notice, or said nothing & filed the "I'll fix that" away.
Didn't reduce asking price... :D
Regards & God bless,
Ray
