Door bell rang this arvo, opened the door and there was Helen & Paul aka "the boring one" with cake in hand G was down the street so he missed them by "that much" they are back in SA for the celebration of Pauls daughter who has passed her bar exams and the ceremony is on Monday. After they leave on Tuesday they are slowly heading to Gum Bend so watch out Bought a bushman fridge freezer today and what a great mob to deal with, they answered all the questions we had and they even changed the power cord position for us and no charge for shipping, we could even pick the day we wanted it delivered. G couldn't find my credit card when he ordered the unit but they said they would ring back with shipping details and get it then. When they did ring back they had already done the change of the plug and had already given it to the courier so I gave him the credit card details. It was such a pleasant change to have that kind of customer service.

What a day, we went to visit friends we met at 40 mile beach, they sold their caravan and 4x4 and bought a houseboat (a good deal) have done some upgrading and are thinking of selling it and going a tad bigger. They have done a trip from Mannum right to Renmark they took 3 weeks to get there stopping where they pleased. Then we headed back to Murray bridge and called in to see Wendy & Bruce for a cuppa then headed to Potts Reserve at Langhorne creek to catch up with Helen (the boring one) but they were not to be seen so we headed to the pub for a meal. There is now new owners there and what a great meal, could not fit pudding in either so the owners said to come back just for pudding and I reckon we shall do just that. They don't mind self contained rigs parking out the back of the pub and there will soon be a dump point in the town as well. Now at home and for the first time we have turned the air con on. bbrrrr a bit chilly this evening.

On the subject of Murray River cruising, a very good friend of mine - we'll call him Colin, because that's his name, is embarking on a canoe paddle adventure from Echuca to Mildura in two weeks. I will be there to see him off and take the obligatory photos.
Twenty one years ago Colin paddled from Mildura to Lake Alexandrina and at the end of the trip sold the canoe. In preparation for this years trip Colin bought a canoe off Ebay from a person in Murray Bridge. Yes, you guessed it. Twenty one years later he bought the same canoe he sold after his previous trip.
Sounds like the world is slowly beating a path to your door Dot. Never a dull moment in your house eh?
Steve, your mate sounds amazing. I might have considered a big paddle when we first bought our second hand canoe 15 years ago, but there is no way that poor dilapidated canoe would do a very long trip now... not to mention it's poor dilapidated owner!!!
Watching the lake now, as we have had a strong weather alert. It is very windy, chilly and raining. If our boat floats off the trailer, we will be in it in a flash. Don't quite think we are ready for an ark just yet, but it is my susbstitute ark!
Busy day and it ain't over yet. Went to town for the exciting probe and joy session (NOT) but there was a couple of more pleasant moments and the Dr was young and cute all muscles in tip top order so I am pleased. Have Rosie to dog sit for the next 3 weeks while her mum goes back to UK for her dads 80th and already Brian has set the ground rules i.e he is the boss. They have spent the last couple of hrs playing chasey but mainly Brian doing the chasing. Should make interesting entertainment. There has been a huge prang just 5 ks from here at the Belvidere intersection, 4 ambulances, 4 cop cars, the fire truck and the chopper has just landed. Always some prang on that road but there is nothing wrong with it as long as you drive to the conditions and signs. Another chopper has just come in as well, wow must be a bad one. G has gone off to see the mechanic for his thoughts on the cars light hook up. Booked in for our flu jabs on Wed. Finally getting some work done in the garden and some mulching done as well. Took all the summer clothes out of the bus and have replaced them with winter ones ready for Gum Bend. Better get started on something for tea.

Dot,
You should publish their name & address so the rest of us can benefit from such service!
Perhaps we should start a new page called "Member Recommended"!!!
PS, will you be back home about late-May/early-June?
If so, expect some visitors - with a m/h called 'Girt'!
