We are in Melrose now at the van park $25 inc. power so that I can go Mountain bike riding, visited Over The Edge bike shop and found out where to ride, went out onto a Black Diamond rated trail, 'Dodging Bullets', rated medium to difficult depending on your experience, with the tracks a bit greasy from the rain it was great fun and I didn't come off which is a bonus. More riding in the morning if not raining.

Jenny did not want a ride on the bike at Melrose, since then we went for a ride on the Pichi Richi railway, walked around the Arid Lands Botanical gardens at Pt Augusta, wandered around Peterborough and other small towns in SA.
Visited Silverton with a quick look at Broken Hill and the excellent art exhibition with entries from the 2015 Archibald prize competition, a McCubbin, a Streeton, a Jack Abslom, a Lloyd Rees, Pro Hart, a Sidney Nolan and other great artists. In another town's gallery we found a Margaret Preston.
Tonight we are about 200 kms west of Cobar, looking to see if the road is open to Mt Grenfell to view the art work there, at present there is a lot of surface water around and some dirt roads are closed.

That Jenny is letting us stirring females down. You are getting to see some good art work anyway. How long do you have left before you have to be home? Careful on those slippery dirt roads (nah unhitch the van and do a proper 4x4 drive in the mud)

All the dirt roads in the Wilcania area were closed today, there was quite a lot of rain yesterday, you could see where trucks had to put l.h.s wheel off the tar in places due to wide loads heading west and the wheels went down. We encountered 2 large dump truck bodies yesterday about 10 kms East of Broken Hill that were 6 metres wide at least an today a huge face shovel bucket approx 5 metres wide. I had sufficient warning on the radio and was able to select a spot to pull over completely off the road.
Tonight we are at my cousins place on western outskirts of Dubbo, it is wet around here as well, plenty of country cars covered in red dirt.
