Leaving Maleny
Leaving Maleny in the morning, heading for Casino Resort for a few days. Never been there so should be interesting. Want to head down to Coffs Harbour, but think it could be a bit busy at this time of year.

Re: Leaving Maleny
Which way are you going to get to Casino? We were in Maleny early last year and heading to Kilcoy. The GPS wanted to take us up some very interesting tracks.
I think Coffs Harbour might be pretty busy until early Feb when school goes back.

I have a friend who now lives up in Coffs now, Transit Mike from the old CMCA forum, he said it wasn't too busy up there at the moment but might pay to ring te local CP's if that's where you are headed for, no idea how you check on free camps in the area.

Re: Leaving Maleny
The footy club is listed, they have low cost accomodation in the car park. The caretaker is a nice chap.T1 Terry wrote:I have a friend who now lives up in Coffs now, Transit Mike from the old CMCA forum, he said it wasn't too busy up there at the moment but might pay to ring te local CP's if that's where you are headed for, no idea how you check on free camps in the area.

Think so, its on a major corner with a school adjacent. Was no footy when we stayed. There is a dumppoint on the small side road opposite.Dabar34 wrote:Steven,
Would that be the leagues club?

Glenreagh recreation grounds is a nice quiet place, No. 44 in Camps 6 was $10 pnpv in 2010.
No. 52, Roses Park in Camps 6, near the Thora general store and Taylors Arm Reserve No. 54 in Camps 6 are both worth staying at (both gold coin donation) for some nice relaxing time. All near Coffs Harbour.
If you want to go a bit further -
No. 318 at Ellenborough West of Port Macquarie is worth having as a base and drive around the Ellenborough Falls area.
Wauchope Showgrounds were open in 2010 but not sure of status now - can base there and visit Port Macquarie from there.

Thanks Jodebtre, stayed at Glenreagh last night ($12pv) markets on first Sat so wifey happy.
At the leagues club in Coff's for the next couple of nights ($15pv pwrd) seems like a nice spot.
