Planning next trip

Post by BernieQ2 »

This is where we are heading come April/May. Heading to Cape York.
First "planed" stop is Theodore although is only 270 Ks from home (Degilbo QLD) we have never been there, intend to stay a few days. Next stop Baralaba a few more restful days, then on to Bedford Weir at least two days at this spot (have been here before). Then on to Theresa Creek Dam planning on staying here for a week +. after that we head towards Mt Elsie and Dalrymple, will stay here for a week or so. Moving on to Greenvale, Ravenshoe, Mt Molloy then Cooktown.
From Cooktown we are heading south to Cairns then do a fly drive tour to Horn Island boat back to mainland then 4x4 back to Cains. After all that we will be bumping our way back down the coast visiting Rellies and friends, some are forum members.
So now I would like some input about our route and feed back on the towns we intend to visit and surroundings.
Good as well as bad feed back welcomed. We will be in our Nissan Civilian
Bernie.
I have this also on the AMH forum, after any sort of feed back from here.

Berbie

Sound like an interesating itinerary. I havn't been to any of this places except Cairns.

We will be watching the evolution of your plans with interest. NQ could be our next long trip probably next year.

Thanks Bob, any idea what the road is like between Eidsvold and Theodore?
Had some friends come back that way but they were in a car and traveling a lot faster than I would said the road was shocking.

Had a look around in street view and although a bit narrow I guess there wouldn't be a lot of traffic.
