Possums eat anything we try to grow, we would need a hot house.

Ok we have the culprit looks like just new seals and a good hone with 800 wet&dry .
Its not a wet axle so no oil loss . I think I hope ? comment ?
Only one bearing nut plus lock nut with 3 screws to lock and locate .
Any "smart" way of re-introducing the springs to the brake pads other then jus swearing a bit more ?
Few pic's .

What is the plan for getting the brake fluid out of the brake linings? The easiest way to refit the springs is hook them into the shoes and on their anchor points, pry the shoe up onto the wheel cyl each end while supporting the brake shoe, then push the shoe against the backing plate and fit the washer and nut. Probably the easiest of any hydraulic brake system to do, some of them can be a lot harder to get along with  Do not use kero to clean the wheel cyls, if you have already you will need to remove the wheel cyls and scrub them out with hot water and washing detergent. get some silicon grease and rub it into the cleaned cyl insides to stop the rusting, then reassemble. If you don't get all the kero out the brake rubbers will not last as long as it takes to put the wheels back on, brake cyl rubbers and kero or any mineral oil based product are not compatible.
Don't forget to flush all the old brake fluid out of the brake lines before you refit the cyls or the whole job will also become a waste of a good day

A few years ago when I was playing with old trucks and stuff we used to put the brake shoes into a big pot and boil them for a while. You could tell when all the brake fluid had boiled off. What method have others used?

There's a CRC spray product called Brake Kleen which works wonders...
