Will keep your offer in mind Steve.
Lovely lunch once again in the Ouyen Bakery.......... never miss that one!
Knocked off a bit early today & am in Hay for the night. Chased a thunderstorm or 2 across the plains. Strange seeing water on the road out here!

There was enough of it on both the trip across and the trip back last time. Been a long time since I've seen storms as fierce as they were, we watched them come in from the nth and the lightening was quite spectacular.... then the wind and rain hit and it was quite as entertaining after that  The trip home it was so heavy we had to stay up with the B Doubles so they could pump the water off the road, it became a skating rink if we dropped back too far and the water ran back into the gullies in the road that the truck wheels make. We were too late for the Ouyen bakery last trip but did stop for the worst cup of coffee I think I've ever had at the shop in Tooleybuc... lesson learnt there
Enjoy the rest of your trip, the rain should clear soon as the week end is coming up so it will head over here for the Camp Quality Truck convoy on Sunday

Unfortunately some more medical issues for both of us got in the way Bill, thought our travelling days may have been over so we've taken a short trip up here to test the waters, so far it's been ok, although the days of doing big daily miles are definately well behind us now.

Hope to catch up with you at Bathurst, last time we were there we took the bus around the mountain, great fun and really gives the crash box and Jakes a real workout, I think you'll enjoy it.

Bruce, are you looking specifically for a water cooled 1500 rpm one?

No, not really Jon. I do know that the small Onans usually run Kabota (1500rpm) diesels similar to bobcats etc and are very reliable.
I really can't see the value in installing a petrol or even air cooled diesel when I can get a raw water/fresh water slow revving diesel one that I can bury below deck & just hear the glug, glug out the back.
Do you have something in mind Jon?

If you are looking for a water cooled diesel 48v generator, I have exactly what you are looking for in my front yard. It's a 3 cyl Perkins Lincoln welder, there are actually 2 of them, one for spares and I have been trying to justify taking them to Mannum.

Well I was thinking 240v Terry just in case the inverter shat itself I can bypass it & still run everything.
I just heard from the chap that the one I was looking at is still available. I've asked for more info and photos.
Got to Moree today & had a good day.
1575km's so far since Thurs morning.
Having a bit of trouble keeping my supply of insulin cold......... Might need to look into one of those little 12v medical fridges.........

Well, sort off;

I've got 2 5kva air cooled diesel welder generators that are brand new but missing a few bits. (left overs when I was importing/selling them.)

I've sure there is enough to assemble one. Happy for them to go to someone I know who would make good use of it. (they weigh 130 kgs each) Can't be bothered assembling them myself. You'd need a 6x4 trailer.

Maybe Terry in the new workshop?

I'll definitely give it some consideration Jon. Got a few ways to jump but at present the first 'jump' is getting up Nth to a birthday bash!!
Might even drop in on Steve as I heard he's hiding in Nanango? lol I wonder which car he's got hanging off the back this time?
The other day I saw an immaculate "R" model valiant and it even had the push button auto box in it. To top it off it was towing a teardrop............
Anyone ever inspected that yard full of car bodies in Peak Hill? What a gold mine!! Old Pontiacs, twin spinners, etc....... you name it he's got it!!
